Pavlik Harness

The Pavlik harness is a soft splint. It is most commonly used for treating infants with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). It helps the infant’s hips and knees bent and the thighs spread apart. It can also help promote healing in babies with broken thighbones (femurs).

Avoid the Following Things :

  • Place him on his side.
  • Hold him in a “standing position”.
  • Adjust the harness yourself. Only your doctor should the harness during regular appoinntments.
  • Swaddle him. It could press his leg together when they need to remain apart.
  • Let your baby have Tummy Time unless a pillow is put under his tummy and chest
